About Recovery Cornwall

Recovery Cornwall was founded in 2015 by Ottawa physician Dr. Patrick Leclair and Mark Herrington as an opiate addiction treatment clinic dedicated to providing a centre of excellence for patients struggling with addiction.

We believe that all patients have a right to privacy, and deserve to be treated with dignity and respect.

Over the past decades, drug treatment centres and methadone clinics have earned an unfortunate reputation as depressing, run-down places where crowds of unfortunate souls must wait – often for hours – before they can get help. You can see as soon as you walk through the door that Recovery Cornwall is an entirely different kind of place.

Our beautiful facility and respectful staff provide a meaningful opportunity for real and effective change. The treatment centre features an attractive storefront and an on-premise pharmacy, and is a high-end medical clinic. And while there is a waiting area, it is rarely full, because clients can easily make appointments to see a caregiver, and in most cases, new clients and walk-ins can see a physician right away after registering at the reception area.

Recovery Cornwall is primarily an opiate replacement therapy center. Our primary mandate is to provide treatment for addiction to opiates, (heroine and other morphine derivatives), and opiods, (synthetic prescription painkillers like codeine, oxycodone, heroin, and fentanyl). However we also offer treatment to persons struggling with addiction to other substances like alcohol and narcotics.

In addition, we strive to provide holistic care to our clients. Our treatment centre includes an on-premise drug testing lab, treatment and examination rooms, and an on-premise pharmacy. Our team includes physicians, nurses, pharmacists and psychiatrists. In addition to providing addiction treatment, we offer counselling services, and we provide medical consultation to diagnose and address some of the unfortunate medical consequences of addiction, which include illnesses such as Hepatitis C and HIV.

Our mission is to provide necessary, effective and meaningful treatment for the disease of addiction in the Cornwall region, and beyond, as we open new clinics and treatment centres. We are striving to educate the public and reduce the stigma surrounding addiction and treatment. And we are actively engaged with community partners to help our patients access the resources necessary to maximize their chances of real success in beating their addiction.
